July 20: Language Market, Large-Scale Language Learning Festival, to Be Held in Chernivtsi

The Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine invites journalists to Language Market, an educational festival that seeks to promote the study of foreign languages among students and young people.

The event is organised by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine in cooperation with Lingva Skills, a social initiative for learning foreign languages, at the initiative of the Students’ Council under the Ministry.

It is planned that the festival will be attended by officials of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, the Chernivtsi city state administration and the Association for Innovative and Digital Education, and media workers.

As part of the festival, lectures, workshops, speaking clubs, presentations of language schools, open air cinema screenings, free English tests, an English championship, the most attended English lesson held by Vitalii Zubkov, a famous psycholinguist and polyglot, and other events will take place on the central square of the city. Cultural centres and language schools will present creative locations about language learning. A special guest of the festival, Serhii Fomenko (Foma), frontman of the band “Mandry”, will present his special programme titled “Lifehacks: How to Encourage Foreigners to Speak Ukrainian.”

The festival is also planned to be held in Uzhhorod (27 July).
