Language Market, Large-Scale Foreign Language Learning Festival, to Be Held in Odesa

The Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine invites journalists to Language Market, an educational festival that seeks to promote the study of foreign languages among students and young people.

The event is organised by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine in cooperation with Lingva Skills, a social initiative for learning foreign languages, at the initiative of the Students’ Council under the Ministry.

It is planned that the festival will be attended by officials of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, the Odesa regional state administration and the Odesa city council, representatives of the Association for Innovative and Digital Education, and media workers.

As part of the festival, lectures, workshops, speaking clubs, presentations of language schools, open air cinema screenings, free English tests, an English championship, the most attended English lesson held by Vitalii Zubkov, a famous psycholinguist and polyglot, and other events will take place on the central square of the city. Cultural centres and language schools will present creative locations about language learning.

This year, the study of the Ukrainian language is promoted as well—via public social videoclips and a special programme by Serhii Fomenko (Foma), People’s Artist of Ukraine and frontman of the band “Mandry”.
