On 5 October, Press Conference on Occasion of Ukrainian Cinema Days Project to Be Held

On 5 October 2018, a press conference on the launching of the Ukrainian Cinema Days project will take place at the press centre of Ukrinform news agency.

The project, implemented by Molodist Kyiv International Film Festival with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, is designed to acquaint inhabitants of small towns in Ukraine with modern Ukrainian films.

Organised by: Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine; Molodist IFF.

Speakers: Artem Bidenko, State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine; Andriy Halpakhchi, director-general of Molodist IFF; Roman Yasinovskyi, actor, starred in the film “Cyborgs”.

Address: 8/16 Bohdana Khmelnytskoho St, Kyiv.

Additional information. The last year has seen Ukrainian cinematography literally revive. Ukrainian films successfully hit the screens both at home and in Europe and come out on top at largest international film festivals.

Still, premieres of new Ukrainian films are available mostly to those living in large cities. There are only 500 cinema halls and under 200 cinema houses in Ukraine, which is incredibly small and covers less than half the population of Ukraine. People from small towns and villages are dozens of kilometres away from seeing a new film.

Therefore, Molodist IFF, supported by MIP, announces the beginning of the Ukrainian Cinema Days project.

We are going to Berehove, Zakarpattia Region (10-14 October) and Storozhynets, Chernivtsi Region (16-20 October), and hope to be able soon to travel all over Ukraine.
