The stranglers of freedom of speech in Crimea are threatened with personal sanctions and criminal liability

3 March at 10:00 a.m.  a press conference: “Introduction of new personal sanctions against stranglers freedom of speech in Crimea and criminal proceedings on the mainland of Ukraine” will take place. (Hall 1)

Organizer: Human rights information centre and the Ministry of information policy of Ukraine.

Participants: Tetyana Pechonchyk – the chair of the board of the Human rights information centre, Yulia Kazdobina – the Advisor to the Minister of information policy of Ukraine, Olga Skrypnyk – Coordinator of the Crimean Human Rights Group.

Briefly.  Human rights organizations have analyzed the facts and set the names of the organizers and executors of the systematic attacks on freedom of speech and expression in the occupied peninsula. In the list of people involved in the persecution of journalists in Crimea more than 60 names. It is Russian and Crimean officials, employees of the occupying power, law enforcement and judicial organs, the members of the “Crimean self-defence”, which attacked media workers, heads of press centers that made lists of “undesirable” journalists.
