Today, on Friday, the telecommunication tower on the mount Chonhar, which will be broadcasting to the occupied Crimea, will be opened.

The Chairman of Kherson Regional State Administration Andriy Hordeev informed the correspondent of “Ukrinform” about it.

“On March 17 we are opening a 150-meter tower, which gives a signal on the territory of the occupied Crimea”, – said the Governor of Kherson.

The Minister of information policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets, the Minister of temporarily occupied territories and IDPs Vadym Chernysh, the Chairman of the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine Yurii Artemenko, and the Chairman of Kherson Regional State Administration Andriy Hordeev will participate the opening of the tower.

After that, the delegation will visit the Chonhar checkpoint, where together with the representatives of the Border and Customs services will inspect associated areas, “service zone” and the checkpoint.

On 27 December 2016, the National Council of Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine issued licenses to four radio stations, that would be able to broadcast to Crimea. They are the Ukrainian radio (public broadcasting), local Kherson radio station, the Crimean Tatar radio “Meydan”, “Crimean communities radio”.

The license for broadcasting the “Radio Krym.Realii” in the FM-band at the frequency 105.9 in Crimea received the public organization “Crimean communities radio”.

FM-band broadcasting will cover Dzhankoy raion and Krasnoperekopsk raion, partially Simferopol raion of Crimea.
