The All-Ukrainian Forum “Cultural and Informational Reintegration of De-Occupied Territories” will be held in Kyiv

The All-Ukrainian Forum “Cultural and Informational Reintegration of the De-Occupied Territories” is a platform for developing joint systemic actions of the State, public, business and international partners aimed at completing the cultural and informational restoration of the de-occupied territories.

Russia has been planting the imperial narratives in the minds of Ukrainians in the occupied territories for years and still does. After the liberation of our cities, we have to bring Ukraine back into the information and cultural space, into the consciousness of all those who have had to live under the occupation, or who were born under it.

The symbol of the Forum is the mosaic “The Tree of Life” by Alla Gorska. This is a work in which the artists tried to combine the Ukrainian tradition and the world trends. This work by the Ukrainian artist and dissident is a symbol of Ukraine’s material and spiritual losses. After all, the work of one of the most brilliant creative personalities of the 1960s generation was initially hidden behind a false wall for more than 40 years. It was preserved by local artists who defied the Soviet authorities’ order to destroy it. Russia destroyed it at the start of a full-scale invasion in spring 2022.

A number of panel discussions are planned during the Forum:

  • State policy of restoring and developing the cultural sphere in the de-occupied territories;
  • Preservation of cultural heritage and historical memory as a tool for restoring Ukrainian identity;
  • Forming Ukrainian narratives: information policy in the de-occupied territories;
  • Art during the war. How to counter Russian disinformation.

Organizers: Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and public organization “Institute of Public Communications.” The Forum is held with the support of METINVEST Group.
