ECMIP Presents Preliminary Draft Concept of Ukraine’s Information Security during Regular Session

May 21, as part of the Expert Council under the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine a preliminary draft concept of Ukraine’s information security was presented. The draft Concept was supported by all participants of the ECMIP session and remarks made during the discussion were taken into consideration by unanimous decision of the attendees. During the meeting, the Co-Chair of the Expert Council Minister Yuri Stets expressed his gratitude to all ECMIP members and experts participated in the development of the document and tremendous work done in a very short time period. “My fellow politicians probably may not be glad to hear that, but position of members of the Expert Council under the Ministry is far more statist than that taken by some “public figures”, Yurii Stets admitted.

Secretary of the Expert Council Dmytro Zolotukhin said that this document should go through professional assessment by international expert organizations. “The opinion of media lawyers is very important for the Expert Council under MIP on development of information security concept and promotion of Ukraine’s information space, so I appreciate that Director of Media Law Institute Taras Shevchenko joined the ECMIP team”, Dmytro Zolotukhin stressed.

Co-Chairman of the Expert Council Sergii Danylenko underlined that after the presentation of the Information Security Concept the members of ECMIP were planning to hold discussions on the document with information security and media experts in all regions of Ukraine. “The concept of information security is a socially important document that concerns everyone, for every citizen of Ukraine is a consumer of information”, Sergii Danylenko reported. As a reminder, the Expert Council under the MIP was launched March 26, 2015. The Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets and Doctor of Political Sciences, Associate Professor of International Media Communications and Communication Technologies Department of the Institute of International Relations Sergii Danylenko were elected as co-chairmen of the ECMIP.
