5 October 2016, the Minister of information policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets held a meeting with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Germany to Ukraine Ernst Reichel.
According to Yurii Stets, Germany and Ukraine have to find possible ways of cooperation in fighting misinformation of Ukrainians, particularly in the east of the country.
“We appreciate German support for Ukraine. We would like you to support us on the information front. Ukrainians have to have access to alternative sources of information”, – the Minister said.
In reply, the Honourable Ambassador underlined the importance of a pluralistic media landscape in Ukraine as well as the importance of access to objective information, in particular in the east of the country.
Note that it is the first meeting of recently appointed Ambassador of Germany with the Minister of information policy of Ukraine.
