On 22 September 2018, Tvoia Kraina Fest, a Ukrainian music festival, took place in Novoselytsia, Chernivtsi Region, with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine.
The town, located close to the border with Romania and Moldova, saw performances by the bands “Mandry” and “Antytila”, Maria Burmaka, Ivanka Chervinska, and Gypsy Lyre. Despite the rain, residents of Novoselytsia turned out at the central stadium to listen to favourite musicians.
“Our impressions have surpassed all the expectations. Giving concerts in such frontline towns is a pleasure. [It was] a crazy atmosphere, and we were warmly and happily welcomed,” says Serhiy Fomenko (Foma), frontman of the band “Mandry”.
The Novoselytsia concert is the sixth to take place within the framework of Tvoia Kraina Fest, with the previous five held in Izmail, Henichesk, Mariupol, Konotop, and Mukachevo.
“This year, our festival is coming to an end. There is one more concert, in Sarny, near the border with Belarus. Next year, we plan to expand the festival geographically and thematically,” the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, Yuriy Stets, was quoted as saying.
On 15 September 2018, Tvoia Kraina Fest, a Ukrainian music festival, took place in Mykachevo, Zakarpattia Region, near the border with Romania; on 8 September, in Konotop, Sumy Region, close to the border with Russia; on 24 August, in frontline Mariupol, Donetsk Region. On 18 August, the festival was held in Henichesk (Kherson Region), close to the administrative border with occupied Crimea; on 11 August 2018, in Izmail (Odesa Region), near the border with Romania.
On 29 September, the final concert of the festival will take place in Sarny (Rivne Region, bordering Belarus).
Tvoia Kraina Fest is mostly designed to bring good modern Ukrainian music to the remotest corners of Ukraine, which artists often miss out in their tours.
