MIP will put forward an initiative on press tours to other countries aiming to promote international broadcasting system

5 April 2016, the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets met with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Cyprus in Ukraine Vassos Chamberlen. During the meeting, they discussed the situation regarding the inclusion of international broadcasting channel UATV into the cable and hotel networks of Cyprus, as well as a potential of joint image projects, which would have strengthened cooperation between the countries.

“From the Ukrainian side, we are ready to initiate the organization of press tours to different countries of the world. We are ready at short notice to organize professional teams, which would create quality content about our partners – primarily content for Ukrainian TV channels. Of course, this should be a two-way traffic because we are interested in that Ukrainian international broadcasting received maximum support”, – said the Minister.

Honorable Ambassador Vassos Chamberlen offered from his part to provide the necessary support for arranging such tours and to organize the contacts with the National Tourism Organization of Cyprus.

Recall that in order to implement reforms of international broadcasting of the States and to promote values of Ukraine in the information space of foreign countries, to report the truth about what is happening in Ukraine, Yurii Stets conducts regular meetings with ambassadors and representatives of international organizations with the aim to present IBMPU.

The launch of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine (IBMPU) was held on 1 October 2015. In the framework of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine the “UA|TV” channel was introduced instead of satellite “UTR” TV channel. It is broadcasted via three satellites: Amos 3, Azerspace 1, Galaxy 19, as well on its own YouTube channel.

The legal basis of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine became the Law “On international broadcasting system of Ukraine” developed by MIP, which was signed by the President of Ukraine on 28 December 2015. According to the Law, IBMPU is registered as a state enterprise.
