Statement by MIP Regarding Minister's Fake Decree Dissemination

Recently, a fake decree by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine has been disseminated in regions, in particular in Kryvyi Rih in Dnipropetrovsk Region.

With this in view, may we advise yoy that the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine has never issued a decree demanding support of initiatives of the PJSC ArcelorMittal Kryvyi Rih union.

The ‘decree’ dated April 2nd regarding the support by the organization’s union to nominate Petro Poroshenko as Ukraine’s President, which was circulated on the media, is fake, and the Ministry’s signature on it forged.

“The Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine operates exclusively within the powers granted to it by law and does not canvass for any candidates for public office,” Yuriy Stets, the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, was quoted as saying.

The Ministry is preparing a request to law enforcement agencies on the dissemination of fake information and forgery of documents.
