President Petro Poroshenko has started the working trip to Donetsk region visiting the Karachun mount, where he laid flowers to the memorial sign and honored the memory of soldiers killed in the fighting.
The President also inspected the progress of the restoration of radio and TV transmitting station “Kramatorsk” and ensuring access to the Ukrainian radio and television. The station, which is located on Karachun mount, was destroyed by pro-Russian terrorists during the occupation of Sloviansk and Kramatorsk.
With the aim of restoring a permanent broadcasting of the Ukrainian radio and television channels on the territory of Donetsk region, construction and repair work on the reconstruction of administrative premises and the installation of a new antenna mast for radio and TV transmitting station “Kramatorsk” are carried out.
During a meeting on Karachun mount, the President stressed the need to ensure full coverage of the Ukrainian radio and television channels throughout the territory of Donetsk and Luhansk regions. “The restoration of the Ukrainian TV channels broadcast in Luhansk and Donetsk regions is a matter of state importance”, – said Petro Poroshenko.
According to the Minister of information policy Yurii Stets to ensure full coverage of the Ukrainian TV channels broadcast in Donetsk region the installation of two more TV towers is needed.
At the same time, Yurii Stets has informed that installation work of radio-television tower in Luhansk region is carried out, which was donated to Ukraine by the American partners.
