As part of his visit to the USA, the Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets held a meeting with representatives of the US State Department headed by the Under Secretary of State for Public Diplomacy and Public Affairs Richard Stengel.
During the meeting the US representatives were informed about the situation in eastern Ukraine, the process of implementation of reforms in the country and measures taken by the Government of Ukraine to overcome corruption and counter Russian propaganda. Mr. Stets separately outlined the principles the Ministry headed by him is guided by in its work and stressed the need to improve the legal framework of Ukraine in the field of information policy. The Minister also thanked for support of Ukraine provided from America’s side.
For their part, representatives of the US State Department assured of unfailing support of Ukraine and readiness to render further practical assistance in the fight against Russian aggression and propaganda.
