Dear Ukrainians!
Today is a special day for all of us. The day when we feel unity with our native land and realize over again, how precious and intimate it is to us.
Today is the day when we stop for a moment to look at the trail made good, to look with pride, since we have a lot to be proud of: the exploits of the ancestors, and the prowess of our contemporaries, ready to defend their dignity with their lives.
Today is the day, when we face the future with hope and confidence, because we understand – we’ve chosen the right way. Trials bring us all together, strengthen us, make us stronger.
A quarter of a century ago Ukraine got what it sought so long. Hetman Bohdan Khmelnytsky gave the Ukrainians the belief that their own state is real. Since that time, our ancestors fought for their right for independence, for us to create our own future.
So I greet you, Ukrainians, with the fact that for 25 years we’ve lived under one sky, overcome adversity and moved on!
We will continue to defend what our ancestors fought for: with weapon, if needed, but mainly with spirit, idea, will, truth. When united, we are invincible!
