The International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine every month increases its coverage beyond Ukraine. The UA | TV channel was launched on 1 October 2015, having contracts with two small cable networks of Moldova and the Baltic States.
Today the channel is being broadcasted in the largest cable networks of Azerbaijan, the largest network of Latvia, two of the largest networks in Georgia, the second and third largest networks of Poland, Israel, Bulgaria, Lithuania, Estonia, Romania; the contracts were signed with the Association of cable operators of Denmark (UBOD) and the Association of cable operators of Slovenia. Also, the channel is available in the coverage area of three satellites: Amos 3, Azerspace 1, Galaxy 19 (Central and Eastern Europe; Eastern Europe, Central Asia, and the Middle East; Central and North America).
In fact, hundreds of millions of owners of satellite antennas, more than 10000000 users of cable networks have the opportunity to watch the UA | TV channel. Not all operators provide a data on the real number of views, but, for example, in Latvia in May over 20,000 subscribers at least once turned on the Ukrainian international broadcasting.
Monthly, a website traffic of the national information agency “UKRINFORM” increases; in May, the average attendance of unique users was 53 000 a day. It is important to note that this is the only Ukrainian information portal, which is published in six languages.
According to the Law of Ukraine “On international broadcasting system” the state should provide adequate funding for the system of public broadcasting, that is provided in a separate line item in the state budget of Ukraine; and it must be not less than 0.06 percent of the expenditures of the general fund budget for the previous year. However, due to the fact that the Law entered into force after the voting for the state budget in 2016, no funds were allocated to the international broadcasting system.
Recall that the launch of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine (IBMPU) was held on 1 October 2015. In the framework of the International broadcasting multimedia platform of Ukraine the “UA|TV” channel was introduced instead of satellite “UTR” TV channel. “Always together” is a slogan of a new multimedia project. “Discover Ukraine!”, “Support Ukraine!”, “Stay with Ukraine”, “Live for Ukraine” – this is how every day, every hour, every minute, every second journalists of UA | TV will address their audience.
