The MCIP will support the initiatives of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine regarding cultural exchange, – Rostyslav Karandieiev

On February 8, a meeting took place between the Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy Rostyslav Karandieiev and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine Idris Kadyrkulov, along with the Counselor of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic Esen Aksamaev.

Rostyslav Karandieiev expressed gratitude for the initiative of the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine regarding the renewal of cooperation in the cultural sphere.

“The culture of Kyrgyzstan is a global culture, just like Ukrainian culture. We must ensure access for our citizens to the cultural heritage that is interesting and important for both of our countries,” emphasized he.  

In turn, Idris Kadyrkulov spoke about the events planned by the Embassy to mark the 210th anniversary of Taras Shevchenko’s birth.

Furthermore, the Ambassador shared the achieved and planned initiatives in strengthening cooperation between two countries in the cultural sphere. Specifically, with the support of the Embassy, works of the Kyrgyz humanitarian writer Chingiz Aitmatov were printed in Ukrainian. Additionally, films were produced with plans for translation into Ukrainian.

Rostyslav Karandieiev highly appreciated the initiatives proposed by the Embassy of the Kyrgyz Republic in Ukraine and emphasized the importance of national-patriotic education and the formation of a resilient identity among the citizens of both countries.

“We are excluding russian products from the Ukrainian cultural space. It is also important to minimize its presence globally, as russia uses its culture as one of the means of propaganda dissemination,” summarized the Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy, Rostyslav Karandieiev.
