Rostyslav Karandieiev

Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine

Born on June 22, 1972 in Kyiv.

In 1993, he obtained a higher education degree in Solid-State Physics at Taras Shevchenko University of Kyiv. In 2002, he graduated from Taras Shevchenko National University of Kyiv with a degree in Jurisprudence. In 2019, he graduated from the National Academy of Government Managerial Staff of Culture and Arts with a specialization in Socio-Cultural Activity Management.

In 2007, he obtained a Ph.D in Economics.

Karandieiev began his career as an engineer at the International Center for Electron-beam Technologies of the Institute of Electric Welding named after E.O. Paton of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine.

Since 1995, he worked for the municipal bodies of Kyiv. In particular, within the Kyiv City State Administration, he held positions of the Head of the press service, Head of the main department for interaction with mass media and public relations, Head of the main department for physical culture and sports, and First Deputy Director of the department of culture. He also worked as a Deputy in the Kharkivskyi and Dniprovskyi District State Administrations in Kyiv and served as the Director of the Kyiv City Center for Social Services for Youth.

From 2006 to 2010, he worked at the Ministry of Family, Youth and Sports of Ukraine as the Director of the Physical Culture Department and an adviser to the Minister. From 2008 to 2010 he served as the Deputy Minister of Family, Youth and Sports of Ukraine.

From 2015 to 2020, he held senior positions in the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine, including Deputy Minister, Deputy Minister and Chief of staff, and State Secretary of the Ministry.

In 2020, he worked as an adviser to the Head of the Office of the President of Ukraine.

From July 15, 2020 he served as the First Deputy Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

Since July 28, 2023, he has been serving as the Acting Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
